Welcome to the Living Water Baptist Church Blog.

I am Reginald Spight - Pastor. We are located at 4790 Knight Arnold Road, Memphis, TN 38118-3201

Our church's web address is: http://lwcministry.org/.

Why do we gather together each Sunday morning as a church?  What draws us to Living Waters?  What  meanin do we find here for our lives and the lives of our families?

I imagine some of us come here because we want to learn more about God, and when we gather here together for worship, God feels just a little bit closer to us.  Maybe it’s the beauty of the love from the members.  Maybe it’s the music.  Maybe it’s hearing God’s word read and interpreted.  Something about worshiping in this place touches us and helps us experience the presence of God more deeply.

I suppose others of us come here because we want be better people.  We are attracted to Jesus as a model for our lives.  And in the church we have the opportunity to learn about the life and teachings of Jesus and to be supported in our efforts at following him.  Maybe you can think of other reasons for why we gather together.  But, maybe some are able to satisfy a spiritual need in each of our lives that was not being met elsewhere.

This Blog is meant to give us a chance to discuss issues and concerns and to share them with the church community.  Please fee free to share your thoughts.

  1. How can we tell when God speaks to us

  2. There are times when you think that God is not speaking. God does speak at various times. Are you willing to listen to his voice. Alone with God's voice is his glory. God's voice over powers all that is happening right now. God voice will always be heard. According to Psalms 29:4, The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. Amen.

  10. It just seems to be human nature, as we grow in wealth and ability our confidence moves from complete trust in the Lord to trust in our resources. David trusted in the number of troops rather than God being his only source.
Sinful handling of sin further complicates matters leading to a downward cycle of failure.
This week, ask God to keep you from trusting in your own resources and abilities. If you would like for us to pray with you, we will love to have you to click on the Always Prayer Link and make your prayer request known in Jesus Name.
